Across Arkansas...temperatures are near 37 degrees north, near 45 degrees central, and near 39 degrees south. Current sky conditions are sunny north, mostly sunny central, and sunny south. In the north, relative humidity is near 92%, and the dew point is near 35 degrees. In the central part of the state, relative humidity is near 76%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. In the south, relative humidity is near 96%, and the dew point is near 38 degrees. Winds are calm north, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are from the west at 3 mph central, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Winds are calm south, where conditions are favorable for spraying. Based on current available observations, the highest temperature is 46 degrees at Texarkana. The lowest temperature is 32 degrees at Fayetteville.

HISTORIC WEATHER EVENTS

Thane Creek AK reported a snow cover of 190 inches. (The Weather Channel)
...1920...
The worst tornado disaster of record occurred in Chicago IL as a tornado
killed 28 persons and caused three million dollars damage. (David Ludlum)
...1997...
Ten tornadoes tore across the area, affecting the Kentucky counties of 
Adair, Metcalfe, Casey, Green, Larue, Marion, Hardin, Hart, Nelson, and 
Russell; and the Indiana counties of Scott and Jefferson. Two of the 
twisters produced F3 damage. A 28-year-old woman was killed in Metcalfe 
County as she was thrown from her destroyed mobile home. A 40-year-old man 
was killed when his house in Bonnieville (Hart County) was hit by one of 
the F3 tornadoes and blown off its foundation. This tornado injured many 
people when it caused several car accidents as it crossed Interstate 65.
