Issued at 217 AM CDT FRI APR 26 2024

Quiet conditions across Central Alabama this morning, with patchy
mid level cloudiness. A stalled front remains draped across the
region from near Savannah GA to Clanton AL to Little Rock AR. Some
localized low clouds have developed near and south of the front
where low level moisture is greater. Broad surface high pressure
is centered over New England, influencing much of the eastern
CONUS, with upper level ridging extending from the central Gulf
coast northward through the Great Lakes. A nearly vertically
stacked low system is rotating out of the Central Rockies and into
the Central Plains.

Today, the stalled front will lift northward, leaving a weak convergent
boundary across the northeast this afternoon. With reinforcement
from weak wedging across north Georgia, a few showers or storms
are possible this afternoon. The approaching ridge axis and
slightly increasing heights should keep any activity weak and
isolated. Highs today will be in the 78 to 86 degree range.

Heights continue to rise tonight and Saturday as ridging remains across
the eastern CONUS. This keeps the storm track to the north of the
area, with dry conditions expected. Surface high pressure to our
east keeps low level winds from the southeast to south. Lows
tonight will be in the low to mid 60s, with highs on Saturday in
the upper 70s to mid 80s.
